Reasons why being a working mom sucks

  1. Work tends to think it’s equally as important as babies
  2. Your boss will believe the above even more than this mysterious non physical work does
  3. Stay at home moms are mean and snobby to you because they think you’re not a good mom because you go to work
  4. No matter how much you try not to, you will cry when you have to take a last minute trip to Kentucky and you only have 15 minutes to pack, tell your hubby you love him, kiss the sleeping baby goodbye, and bitch because having to leave last minute is unfair
  5. No matter how much you try to justify that you are being there and supporting the baby by working, a small part of you will always say but you could be there even more for them if you stayed home
  6. There are no baby smiles at work – maybe if there were people would like it better
  7. I don’t work with people who have babies so they don’t get it
  8. There is never enough time to do everything so most of the time you sacrifice yourself – hello mummy tummy I intended to be rid of you by now, but I have to dedicate all time to my computer and the hundreds of emails I get a day
  9. Some days the baby will throw up on you three times before you leave the house, you will get home and the dog will throw up on you two more times – this is a true story – Eric laughed
  10. It’s hard to find time to get to the escape plan you have crafted to get yourself out of this mess

Thanks for reading my bitching.  Last minute trip, sitting in Chicago, I only have a room at the hotel for one night so I’m probably going to have to switch hotels tomorrow night……

If you are ever considering a job with travel, remember it’s not glamorous!  It sucks!!!

so sorry…where are you?? can’t believe you had just minutes to get this together and you will have to change hotels!!! how long will you be gone! remember indie and eric love you so much…much more than all the crap you go thru! you need pics of indie with you and daily videos…remember you are a great swimmer:)

thank goodness, eric stays at home with indie. things would be so much worse for indie if he was at daycare all day and you gone. at least he has the consistency of being at home. and the both of you are doing a great job parenting..with all the crap and all cuz indie is very happy and stable.

  3. Isn’t it funny how being a mom changes the priorities of life? 🙂 Hang in there! I so know how you feel (minus the traveling part!) You’ll get through it…even if it takes a few tears:) And Indie loves you no matter what!

These things are what makes you a good mom. I worry about the mom’s who don’t feel guilty or suck at being stay at home mom’s. Plan ahead and remember that Indie won’t remember that you aren’t at home with him all day right now. Plus, he’s even more excited to see you when you are there and that time you do have with him is the quality time that he needs anyway.

Being a working mom is really upsetting. Your time with your work and with your family , specially with the kids is divided. Sometimes you are so tired because of work and that you don’t have the energy to play with your kids. I’m glad I left my old job wherein I need to work more than 11 hours a day. At least now I can say I can attend to my kids needs better. 🙂
